I spotted that army green cabinet full of drawers, across the parking lot from our booth at Simply Bungalow. I instantly fell in love. I mentioned this love affair to my husband, Kiley.
We unloaded our trailer, set up our booth, and went about our day at the local market. Several hours into the market, I headed inside to use the bathroom. I walked past this cabinet full of drawers and noticed the SOLD sign that was hanging from it. My heart skipped a beat. I told myself it just wasn’t meant to be and went on about our day.
Fast forward to the end of the market.
At the end of the day we loaded our trailer. I am exhausted… I am saying good bye to a few other vendors and I see Kiley across the parking lot, with our 2 wheeled cart, headed across the lot. The first thing I think is “He is going to help other vendors load their trailers? Why oh why does this man always have to be so generous? I want to go home now.” This was the conversation going on inside my head.
And then suddenly, I see him going towards the SOLD cabinet. He put it onto our 2 wheeled cart and headed towards our trailer. This awesome husband of mine bought this cabinet for me as a surprise Mothers day gift. I was beyond happy to know that this was now mine. I quietly apologized in my head for being such a tired grump earlier. 🙂
Last weekend, Kiley painted the cabinet for me.

Annie Sloan English Yellow paint from The Coop here in Lincoln NE.
I am in LOVE with the way this turned out. I can not wait to use it at our new house in my office.
