If you have been to my Etsy shop lately, you know that I have been busy making vintage dictionary pendants.
I wanted to tell you a little about how and why I decided to make these for my shop.
I started out with one dictionary. As a kid I spent a lot of time during the summer at my Great Grandma Ballou’s farm-house. There was never a lot to do there, but we always had fun. The 2 things I can remember doing were looking at old family pictures and flipping through old books.
I was given the opportunity to take all these home when we were cleaning out her house 20 years ago. No one else wanted them and I felt a close attachment to them from when I was a kid. Since then, the books have set in boxes in my basement doing absolutely nothing.
Recently, I thought it would be cool to make these dictionary pendants. I have always had a love for words. I found this old dictionary in the basement and knew this was all meant to be.
I think my Great Grandma Ballou would be proud that other people are wearing a piece of her dictionary on their pendant.
I think this is a fantastic way to share words with other people.
Maybe there is a special word that motivates you or reminds you of a special person.
These pendants are a great expression of words.
Thanks for reading!
