True Story…. We have been married for almost 19 years and never had our photos taken by a professional. I went all out. I went and got my hair and make up done for these photos. It was so much fun! We went to Captured Memories photography studio, here in Lincoln Nebraska. They are located in downtown Lincoln. Paula (our amazing photographer) took photos in her studio and around some downtown buildings. She really took her time and made us feel loved. It was an easy experience and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way these photos turned out.
I was recently at a gathering at a friend’s house with some amazingly, talented, bloggers. We were talking about kraftykash jewelry and what each piece means to the person wearing it. You guys, there are some great stories out there that really need to be told. A few of the girls in my group suggested having guest blog posts about kraftykash jewelry. I absolutely love this idea!!
So for the next few months, I will be sharing this blog space with some very talented writers. I didn’t know when I started this business that our jewelry would impact people in so many different ways. But it truly has done that and more. I hope you take the time to read these posts and get to know the different writers in their own blog space. If you are interested in doing a blog post about your piece of kraftykash jewelry…. Please contact me. I would love to hear from you. No story is too big or to small. Email me at email@example.com
Here is a little story about my necklace.
I was born and raised in Lincoln, Ne. I have lived here my entire life. I love this town.
I an the oldest of 3 kids. I was that “bossy” older sister.
I started this business to pay for our daughter’s drum lessons.
I am a dreamer.
Kiley, Korby, and I went on a road trip adventure a few weeks ago. We wanted to go visit some of our “junk” friends at 106 Vintage Co.
Our trip to Vintage 106 in Coleridge Nebraska, started with mouth watering cheeseburgers in a cute little dairy shop, Udder Delights, in Wayne, Ne.
We love stopping at small town diners to eat lunch.
This stop had games for you to play while you waited for your food.
106 Vintage Co. is located on Broadway street in Coleridge, NE. You really have to see the place to believe it. It was an old opera house that Cammie and her family completely restored. It is gorgeous! Check out all of those paintings on the walls. They discovered them in their restoration process. It really is amazing to think that someone took the time to paint these back in the day.
Cammie has an excellent eye for decorating.
These photos give you a glimpse of her decorating skills.
I love all of the collections, color, and textures that she uses throughout the entire shop.
Checkout that display behind us in the photo below. So many intricate details and vintage goodness!
We picked up a few old mailboxes that we just couldn’t live without. They are officially cat approved. That is our farm cat, baby MeMo.

Calligraphy has always been interesting to me. I love the way the lettering looks on paper. I recently had the pleasure of taking a calligraphy workshop at a local studio, called Porridge Papers. They are a local papermill and letterpress studio.
This class was very hands on and incredibly cool. I loved learning how to write with the special pen and ink. It was hard for me to learn at first. It takes a lot of practice and an open mind. I won’t be going into the calligraphy business anytime soon, but I made some really cool monogram cards. Our instructor was a trained & talented professional. Did you see how she wrote my name on that tag in the photo below? LOVE it!
When we arrived at class, the shop was set up and ready to go.
The owner had chocolate, apple cider, and an entire packet of papers/calligraphy ideas waiting for us in our spots. We even had a “take home” kit that included, ink. paper, pen, brush, and instructions. This was the perfect creative atmosphere! We practiced writing our monograms & submitted the final project to the class instructor.
It only took them a week to get our monogram plate back. Then we were invited back to the shop to print our very own monogram greeting cards. This part was amazing! Christoper taught me how to use the old printing press. He showed me how everything works and then let me print my monogram onto the cards. It was cool to see up close how this whole process works. I love the way the cards turned out. I can not wait to send them out to people.
Porridge papers is getting ready to open “the bar”. You guys! This is so awesome! You can take classes, rent their machines for printing on your own, and more! I hope you will be able to check it out in 2015. I highly recommend taking a class. They will announce the line up of workshops and open studio dates next week. I can’t wait to go back and use the bar area for printing!
My family laughed out loud when I announced my word of the year for 2015. Adventure.
Yes, I said laugh. It was friendly laughter. In their best defense…. I am an indoorsy girl, I prefer to never go over the speed limit while driving, you won’t find me jumping out of planes or climbing high cliffs. I generally don’t like to get my feet wet, and I really don’t like sweating.
We moved to our new home about a year and a half ago. It is seriously gorgeous out here. I am ready for an adventure. I am ready to go explore our property, make plans for a bigger garden in the spring, roam around and make memories.
I want to try new foods, maybe read a book or two, exercise more, go for walks with our dogs, and spend more time with my family. I am thankful for all of the awesome and amazing things that happened to our business in 2014. I can not wait to see what adventures we will encounter in 2015.
Have you decided on your word of the year for 2015?

My good friend, Beki and her family organize and run the Kansas Barn Sale once a year, on the first Saturday in October. It is a one day barn sale, that will blow your mind! The atmosphere is contagious! There is a great mix of vintage, handmade, crafts, pumpkins, food, and more. We travel about 4 hours to get there. This was our 3rd year & it did not disappoint! It is one of our FAVORITE shows to set up our kraftykash traveling booth.
We always bring our traveling tray of word and map jewelry. Our trailer is packed with our hand picked vintage finds for all of our awesome shoppers. We have the best time finding all of these amazing pieces to fill our booth. We are lovers of vintage globes, suitcases, chairs, anything galvanized, wood boxes, industrial pieces, rustic & americana.
We LOVE our Kansas Barn Sale shoppers! Thank you for stopping by our booth.
Scroll down for the photos of our booth in 2014.
We cant wait to see you again in 2015!

Its been a long week. I have been sick for a few weeks. Found out today that it is bronchitis. No wonder I have been so tired and cranky. Thankful for medicine and a weekend of rest.
I remember a few years ago someone telling me to “go to my happy place”. I seriously thought that person was off their rocker. I had no idea what she meant. I tried to picture a beach scene, like you see in the movie or on instagram. Even though I would try, I never really felt it.
Fast forward to now. I know where my happy place is. Out here in the wide open country. We drive around to let the dogs run & enjoy the fresh air. I get to go to my happy place every single day. It makes me feel better. I try to soak it all in. Every once in awhile, I can hear the trees whisper. I love that this is my happy place.
I made a video….. For when you need a happy place.
The Old Glory Antique Fair takes place every year on Flag Day, in Littleton, Colorado. Our business has been fortunate enough to be a vendor the last 2 years. I can not say enough good things about being a part of this show.
Trust me… you absolutely want to add this to your calendar next year. Thanks to everyone that came out to shop at our booth.
We love you Colorado!! See you in 2015.
Here are some fun photos of our booth set up.
Thankful for my husband,Kiley & his awesome camera skills.
Remember how we all pitched in to help build a community center in South Africa?
Look at all the progress.
This makes my heart happy.
So here’s the deal. We could use your help. If 461 people give $25 each we’ll make our goal of $11,526 and will finish the first half of the community center. This project is near and dear to our hearts here at kraftykash designs.
We are amazed by the progress that they have completed as of today. WE are more amazed by all of your generosity.
Read all about the project here
$25 each from 461 people makes the first half of the community center building possible. The cafeteria half. The bathrooms half. The conference rooms half. The kitchen half.
Here is where you can donate. Any amount will help. Thank you!!
My friend, Stephanie, blogs over at sandandstarfish. I am convinced that her heart is bigger than the ocean. She has a story to go along with her kraftykash map necklace. I wanted to share it with all of you. Thank you, Stephanie!!
“When someone is trying to help you relax and tells you to close your eyes and imagine a beautiful peaceful place, more often than not, the beach comes to mind.
You take a deep breath and imagine the sun shining down bright upon you and it brings you warmth. You see the soft white sand stretching for miles with shells scattered about. The sound… the main reason behind why people imagine this place of all the places in the world… the lapping of the waves as they splash slightly against the shore. The little bubbles that pop and fizz when the tide rolls back to where it started. As the wave tumbles in, the rippling sound of the sea as it calms and washes itself out. The ocean, so hypnotic, so mesmerizing, so stunning and majestic.
To me, it’s more than just a body of water. The ocean is a place for me to unwind, to get inspired, to forget about time and just get wrapped up in its glory. I may live just down the street from this glorious body of water, but there are times when I need an extra reminder or two to just take a deep breath and relax, or get inspired, or keep pushing on and my map necklace of the ocean is the perfect little way to help me do just that.”- Stephanie Rager
